Peace in the Wild Participant Agreement & Waiver

By registering for or participating in any Peace in the Wild program, event, trip, or activity, whether local, national, or international (collectively, "Adventures"), you confirm that you've read, understood, and agree to all terms, policies, and waivers in this Agreement. This is a legally binding agreement between you ("Participant") and Peace in the Wild, LLC ("Peace in the Wild").

Your participation is conditional on full compliance with this Agreement. It takes effect immediately upon registration, signature, or electronic acknowledgment and is enforceable under the laws of the State of Georgia, U.S.A.

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in Peace in the Wild activities, including group recreation, outdoor events, hiking, kayaking, camping, foraging, wilderness skills, and international trips, carries inherent and serious risks that may result in injury, illness, disability, or death. I affirm that I'm medically fit, properly trained, and capable of participating. I've made this determination independently and have not relied on Peace in the Wild to assess my readiness. These risks include, but are not limited to:

  • Injury, disability, or death from activities or equipment use

  • Equipment failure or malfunction

  • Exposure to weather, natural or man-made hazards, animals, or insects

  • Negligence by myself or others, including misjudgment of terrain or conditions

  • Remote locations with limited or no access to emergency medical care

  • Fatigue, dizziness, or other conditions affecting my response time

  • Falls, collisions, or physical injury during land-based activities

  • Capsizing, entrapment, or submersion during water-based activities

  • Swift water currents, hydraulics, and strainers

  • River, lake, or open water hazards including rocks, rapids, and debris

  • Cold water exposure or hypothermia

  • Adverse reactions to plants, fungi, or foraged materials

  • Wildlife encounters or insect exposure

  • Altitude, heat, or environmental conditions

I acknowledge that this list isn't exhaustive, that unknown risks may exist, and that I'm voluntarily assuming all risks associated with my participation.

2. Release of Liability / Indemnification

In consideration of my participation, I agree to:

  • Release and hold harmless Peace in the Wild, its founder, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, injuries, disabilities, death, or property damage arising from my participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

  • Waive any and all claims against Peace in the Wild, its founder, and associated parties, regardless of cause.

  • Indemnify and defend Peace in the Wild, its founder, and related parties against any claims, costs, legal fees, or damages resulting from my involvement.

3. Personal Liability of Founder

I understand and agree that Taylor Crenshaw, as founder of Peace in the Wild, LLC, is not personally liable for any claims, injuries, disabilities, death, property damage, or financial losses arising from my participation in any Peace in the Wild Adventure. My release of liability extends fully and equally to Taylor Crenshaw in her individual capacity, and I waive any and all claims against her personally, to the same extent as those waived against Peace in the Wild, LLC.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

All payments made to Peace in the Wild are non-refundable. Due to the nature of outdoor programming and the coordination required with third-party partners and venues, we're unable to offer refunds, credits, or transfers under any circumstances once payment has been made.

  • Cancellation by Peace in the Wild: Participants will receive a full refund only if Peace in the Wild cancels an event or trip in its entirety. If an event is modified or shortened due to weather, trail, water, or environmental conditions, or other circumstances outside of Peace in the Wild's control, it doesn't constitute a cancellation and no refund will be issued.

Cancellation by Participant: All payments are final and non-refundable. No refunds, credits, or transfers will be provided for cancellations, no-shows, late arrivals, or changes in personal circumstances. Bookings can't be transferred to other events, dates, or participants under any circumstances.

5. Travel Insurance Requirement for Out-of-State and International Trips (Overnight)

For any overnight trip that's out-of-state or international, purchase of valid travel insurance is required to participate. Proof of coverage may include a copy of the insurance policy or insurance card showing valid dates. Failure to obtain coverage doesn't change the non-refundable nature of payments or reduce my financial obligations in any way. I'm solely responsible for any medical, travel, evacuation, or other expenses not covered by my insurance, and I'm strongly encouraged to review my policy to ensure adequate coverage for the activities and locations involved.

6. Declaration of Fitness

I confirm that I'm physically fit and fully capable of participating in Peace in the Wild activities. I understand that Peace in the Wild hasn't assessed my fitness or ability to participate, and I assume sole responsibility for my own health and safety. I'll disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations that may affect my participation and won't attend if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or any other health issues that could put myself or others at risk. I agree to notify guides immediately of any illness or injury during activities.

7. Safety Equipment and Conduct

I agree to wear and use all required safety equipment for the full duration of any activity, including but not limited to personal flotation devices, helmets, and any gear specified by Peace in the Wild or its partners. I'll follow all guide and instructor instructions without exception. Failure to comply with safety requirements or guide direction is grounds for immediate removal from the activity without refund. Participation while under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances is strictly prohibited and is grounds for immediate removal without refund.

8. Media Release

I grant Peace in the Wild irrevocable, worldwide permission to use photographs, videos, or recordings of me taken during activities for promotional, marketing, or educational purposes across any and all media. I waive all rights to inspect or approve such use and to receive compensation of any kind. I release Peace in the Wild and Taylor Crenshaw from any liability related to the use of such media.

9. Dispute and Legal Action

By registering for any Peace in the Wild program, trip, or event, I acknowledge and agree to all terms and payment conditions, including that all deposits and payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing by an authorized representative of Peace in the Wild.

I agree not to initiate any payment dispute, chargeback, or reversal through my bank, credit card company, or any other financial institution for any authorized transaction. Any such action constitutes a material breach of this agreement.

If a participant files a false, invalid, or unauthorized dispute, Peace in the Wild reserves the right to pursue all available legal remedies to recover the full amount owed, administrative expenses, legal fees, and any other recoverable damages.

10. Registration & Agreement Acknowledgment

By registering for or paying for any Peace in the Wild program, trip, or event, I confirm that I've read, understood, and agree to all terms and conditions, and that my participation is conditional on full compliance with this agreement. I acknowledge that I've had the opportunity to seek independent legal counsel before signing.

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia. Any legal proceedings arising from this agreement shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Fulton County, Georgia.
