Outdoor Etiquette
General
- Respect everyone. We’ve cultivated a loving and peaceful space, and disrespect to any of our members or team will not be tolerated. Violators will be removed.
- "Leave No Trace" Policy. Please clean up after yourself and help us protect the environment. Avoid bringing single-use plastic bottles and containers; we recommend using reusable items.
- Capacity Limit. We limit the number of attendees to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. This also helps minimize heavy foot traffic that might affect others' outdoor experiences and animals' natural habitats.
- No Smoking or Drinking. Smoking and drinking are prohibited. Violators will be asked to leave.
- Minors. All minors (17 and under) must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Car. Remove valuables in your parked vehicle. Peace in the Wild is not responsible for theft or damage.
- Personal speakers are prohibited.
- Headphone Use. If you’re wearing headphones, please keep the volume low enough to hear directions and others around you.
- Stay Alert. Stay aware of your surroundings at all times. Avoid distractions from devices.
- Stay hydrated.
Hikes & Walks
- Stay Right. Stay to the far right side unless you're passing someone.
- Avoid Crowding. Please avoid crowding or standing in a large group on the trails. Maintain no more than two people across.
- Traffic Signals. Be mindful of traffic signals and crossings.
- Dogs. If walking/hiking with your dog, keep the leash short enough to prevent tripping others.
- Passing Alerts. When someone calls out "bike/scooter/runner," it means that something or someone is approaching and to be cautious.
- Flashlights. Always point flashlights or headlamps downward to protect your night vision and avoid disturbing others.
Aquatic Activities
- Always wear a life jacket or personal flotation device.
- Follow all posted signs and guidelines for water activities.

- Use proper equipment and ensure it is in good condition.
- Avoid alcohol consumption before or during aquatic activities.
- Be cautious of wildlife and natural obstacles in the water.
- Supervise children closely around water at all times.
