Our Mission
To reconnect Black people to nature through community and nature-based activities. Through our experiences, we empower communities to not only enjoy the outdoors but to actively protect and advocate for it.
Our Vision
A global outdoors where Black people are fully represented, valued, and empowered to explore, lead, and protect the wild for generations to come.
Our Story
Peace in the Wild was founded by trailblazer, Taylor, who fell in love with nature at a young age thanks to her great-grandmother. She dreamed of creating a space where people could step away from daily routines, find joy outdoors, and connect in community. The community was born from that vision—offering real opportunities for Black people to experience nature through a unique, transformative lens.
For too long, historical discrimination and systemic barriers have excluded the Black community from outdoor spaces. Lack of access, representation, and a sense of belonging has kept many from fully embracing the outdoors. Peace in the Wild is changing that—providing education, resources, and shared experiences that foster equity, confidence, and connection in nature.
Even if you don’t consider yourself “outdoorsy,” we offer something for everyone. Whether you're new to nature or rediscovering it, we meet you where you are. We believe nature is our birthright and one of the greatest paths to healing.
